Today I've got magic on my mind. The Harry Potter kind. Apparently so does the rest of the world. After seeing this spectacular Harry Potter and the Cursed Child I decided to borrow a book from the Library. I have NEVER seen a book available in so many languages. Some of which I don't even recognize. But who can blame them? Don't we all want to take a couple of classes at Hogwarts? Perhaps they have some adult education offerings. And about the owls. Henceforth I want all my mail delivered by a...

Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated play in recent Broadway history, the nine-time Olivier Award-winning West End hit Harry Potter and the Cursed Child made the trip across the pond in 2018 and opened its doors to crowds of excited Muggles in New York City.
The Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play is the official eighth story in the Harry Potter franchise and the first to be officially presented on stage. The events of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child take place 19 years after those of the final J.K. Rowling novel, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The show focuses on a new generation of wizards — the children of Harry and Ginny Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and Draco Malfoy — as they attend Hogwarts and go on a new, time-traveling adventure. As they journey to the past, they come across fan-favorite characters and even change wizarding history — but their parents must jump in to help save the Wizarding World once more when things go awry.
The production features dazzling illusions, bringing magic to life before your eyes. We are obliged to #KeepTheSecrets in terms of the jaw-dropping stage magic, courtesy of illusions designer Jamie Harrison.
Rowling co-conceived the story of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with John Tiffany and Jack Thorne, but Thorne is the lead playwright. The show won a record-breaking nine Olivier Awards in London, including Best New Play, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in New York won six Tonys, including Best Play. The original Broadway cast included seven of the original London stars.
From Steven Hoggett's spellbinding choreography, which renders scene changes and character entrances seamlessly, to John Tiffany's wildly innovative directorial choices in scenes involving the Hogwarts Express or the events of the Tri-Wizard Tournament, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a masterful piece of theatre.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

Noma Dumezweni is a little bit magical. Sure, she's playing Hermione Granger, that type-A witch who is the literary heroine of women everywhere, in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, but Dumezweni herself possesses a certain je ne sais quoi. Her co-star Jamie Parker, who plays the titular boy who lived, likens her to a Patronus (that positive projection of a person's inner hope and love). When asked what type of magic she'd love to wield, Dumezweni said she simply wants the power to calm...
